From our very first meeting, the vision for Alara was clear: to create a statement home that seamlessly merges modern grandeur with a deep respect for privacy and climate. The client came to us with a desire for a residence that felt both iconic and intimately personal a home that could stand proudly in an urban setting while offering a sanctuary within. The defining feature, the sweeping vertical façade with its rhythmic fins, was born from conversations about light and shade. We wanted the home to glow from within, yet be protected from Dubai’s intense sun. The client was deeply involved in these decisions, from approving façade studies to walking through mock-ups of material combinations. Together, we settled on a palette of textured stone for solidity, crisp render for clarity, and metallic accents to catch the golden hours.

Functionally, the layout is shaped around daily life: a grand entry sequence for guests, a private family entrance for ease, and generous living areas opening to landscaped courtyards. The central curved stairwell acts as both a sculptural element and a light well, drawing daylight deep into the home. Sustainability was equally important high-performance glazing, deep overhangs, and water-conscious planting ensure the home lives lightly in its environment. Alara is more than a villa; it’s a collaboration between vision and craft a home that reflects its owner’s personality while embodying Designer East’s belief that architecture should inspire, protect, and endure.
